Can hail damage really be fixed without repainting?
In most cases, yes. Hail dents the panel but rarely breaks the finish, and paintless dent repair works the metal back to shape from behind while leaving the original paint exactly where it is. If a stone or debris strike has cut through the paint, that is a different job and we will say so.
Is hail damage covered by insurance?
Hail is typically covered under comprehensive coverage rather than collision, and many insurers treat paintless dent repair as the preferred method for hail because it costs considerably less than replacing or repainting panels. Your own policy and deductible decide what that means for you, so check with your insurer.
How do I know if my car has hail damage?
Look across the horizontal panels rather than straight down at them, ideally with the sun low or a light source at a shallow angle. Hail dents are shallow and round, and they disappear completely in flat overhead light — which is why a lot of hail goes unnoticed for weeks.
How long does hail repair take?
Far longer than a single dent, because there is far more of it. The time depends on how many impacts there are, which panels they are on, and whether the metal is steel or aluminum. We will give you a realistic estimate along with the price rather than a number that sounds good.
